5 Days Gorillas & Chimpanzees safari

This 5 day Safari is a great opportunity for you to explore splendid wildlife in Uganda. You will visit Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda; 2 of Uganda’s most popular safari destinations.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Forest

Enjoy a drive southwest of Uganda to Bwindi National park, with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch before continuing on this scenic drive to Kabale town to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/ Silverback Lodge (Mid range)/ Buhoma community bandas (Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla tracking and community walk.

In the morning on day 2, all gorilla trackers for the day will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. We’ll then proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas. In the evening, you may go for a community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

Dinner and overnight at your hotel/lodge of choice

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park.

On the morning of day 3, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park passing via Ishasha sector, where you will have game drives to see tree-climbing lions and other animals as well as a variety of bird species. If you reach the park early enough, you will enjoy lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge/Irungu Forest Safari Lodge. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, where you will have an opportunity to see a variety of birds such as the kingfisher, herons, blue turaco and many more. You will also see the game such as hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants as they bask along the channel banks.

Day 4: Morning game drive and Chimpanzee tracking.

Early morning on day 4, you will go for a game drive along Kasenyi track in search for Africa Lions, Leopards, herds of Elephants and Buffaloes among others, return to the lodge for late breakfast and relax as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go to Kyambura gorge for Chimpanzee tracking where you will also encounter other primates such as the baboons, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys among others.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.

In the morning after your breakfast, set off for your journey back to Kampala with stopovers for photography and lunch reaching late in the afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure flight.
